The community of Wealthy has an interesting past. It got its start a long time ago, in the late 1800s.

In 1894, a post office was opened in Wealthy. A post office was a very important place back then! It was how people sent and received letters, packages, and news. It helped connect the community to the rest of the world. This post office stayed open for about 20 years, closing down in 1914.

One of the most unique things about Wealthy is its name. Originally, the community was called "Poor." However, people in the area didn't like that name very much. Because of what people wanted, the name was changed to "Wealthy." This change happened to give the community a more positive and hopeful feeling.
