Welbourn is a suburb located in New Plymouth, a city on the western side of the North Island in New Zealand. It sits to the southeast of the main city area. A stream called Te Henui flows through Welbourn, and State Highway 3 marks its western edge. This area first started as a settlement for railway workers.
