West Newton is a small place in Allen County, which is in the state of Ohio in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does.

West Newton was first planned out and officially marked on a map in the year 1850. Just one year later, in 1851, a post office was opened in West Newton. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages for many years. It stayed open and served the community until 1910.
