The Westfield Freezing Works was a very large place in Auckland, New Zealand, where meat was processed. It was located in the area called Westfield, New Zealand. The Hellaby family from Auckland started this facility in 1908. Many families worked at Westfield for generations. However, changes in the economy during the mid-1980s made it hard for the works to compete. Because of this, the Westfield Freezing Works finally closed its doors in 1989.

During World War I, many freezing works opened across New Zealand. This was to help meet the high demand for New Zealand food products. The Prime Minister at the time, William Massey, officially opened the Westfield Freezing Works. This big event happened on May 29, 1916. About 2,000 people came to celebrate the opening.

Some people who later became very well-known once worked at the freezing works. These include:
