When in Rome is a fun movie from 2002. It stars the famous twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The film was directed by Steve Purcell. It's a direct-to-video movie, which means it was released straight to DVD or VHS, not in movie theaters.
Story of the Movie
The movie is about twin sisters named Leila (played by Ashley Olsen) and Charli (played by Mary-Kate Olsen) Hunter. They travel to Rome, Italy, to join a special Summer Intern Program. Four other young people are also part of the program: Paolo, Nobu, Dari, and Heidi.
New Jobs and New Friends
When the program starts, Leila and Charli quickly get into trouble because of some accidents. They end up getting fired! But soon, they meet Derek Hammond, who gives them another chance and hires them again.
While working for Derek, they spend a day at his house. There, Leila meets Ryan, who is Derek's nephew. Leila and Ryan start to like each other. Back at their new jobs, the sisters begin to understand how important it is to be responsible. They also become good friends with the other interns. Charli and Paolo start to have special feelings for each other.
Saving the Day
One day, the twins are trying to deliver some important designs for a photo shoot. But a man named Mr. Tortoni tries to cause problems by stealing the dresses. Leila, with help from Ryan, takes pictures of what happened. She then shows these pictures to Derek.
Everyone works together to make new dresses very quickly, using Charli's designs. They finish them just in time for the big photo shoot. In the end, the photo shoot goes really well! Mr. Tortoni even re-hires all the interns. Derek arrives with the police to arrest Mr. Tortoni. It turns out that Mr. Tortoni was always jealous of Derek because Derek seemed to have everything, including money and a girl named Jamie.
The movie finishes with Jamie and Derek sharing a kiss, and Charli and Paolo also kiss. Ryan tries to kiss Leila, but she tells him she's happy with just a hug. Derek then decides to take all the interns with him to New York!
