A Look Back: The History of Whitehall

Whitehall has an interesting past. It is home to a historic building called White Hall (Whitehall, Georgia). This old building is found where Whitehall Road and Simonton Bridge Road meet.

In 1979, White Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This is a special list of places in the United States that are important for their history, architecture, or culture. Being on this list helps protect these places.

A long time ago, in 1891, the Georgia General Assembly decided to make Whitehall an official town. The General Assembly is like the state's main law-making group.
