William Bromfeild's Life
William Bromfeild was born in London in 1712. He learned about surgery from another surgeon. Soon after, he started his own medical practice.
In 1741, he began teaching anatomy and surgery. Many students came to his lectures. He also became a surgeon at St George's Hospital, which is a famous hospital in London.
In 1761, William Bromfeild was chosen for a special job. He traveled with the Princess of Mecklenburg when she came to England. She was going to marry King George III. After the wedding, Bromfeild became the surgeon for the Queen's household. This meant he was the doctor for the royal family.
Later in his life, he stopped working as a surgeon. He lived in a house he built in Chelsea Park. William Bromfeild passed away on November 24, 1792.
