William went to a school called Charterhouse School. After that, he studied at St John's College, Oxford, which is a very old and famous university. His education prepared him to become a skilled physician.

A Career in Medicine

After finishing his studies, William Heberden the Younger became a doctor at St George's Hospital. He worked there from 1793 to 1803. This was an important hospital in London.

Later, he became a special doctor for the royal family. In 1806, he was named the Physician in Ordinary to the Queen. Then, in 1809, he became the Physician in Ordinary to King George III. This meant he was one of the main doctors responsible for the health of the King and Queen.

Important Achievements

In 1791, William Heberden was chosen to be a Fellow of the Royal Society. This is a very high honor for scientists and smart people in the United Kingdom. It showed that his work and knowledge were highly respected by others in the scientific community.

Family Life
