She was the daughter of John Molesworth from Pencarrow, also in Cornwall. William had a younger brother named Sir Joseph Tredenham, who also became a Member of Parliament.
William went to Exeter College, Oxford for his education. This is a famous university in England. After his studies there, he joined the Middle Temple in 1654. The Middle Temple is one of the four Inns of Court in London, where people train to become lawyers.
Becoming a Politician
In 1659, William Tredenham was chosen to be a Member of Parliament, or MP. He represented the area of St Mawes in the Third Protectorate Parliament. This was an important step in his political career.
He was elected again as an MP for St Mawes in 1660. This time, it was for the Convention Parliament. He officially took his seat in May 1660.
