Windowing system facts for kids
A windowing system helps your computer show different programs on the screen. Think of it like having many separate areas, or "windows," open at once. Each window can hold a different program, like a web browser, a game, or a word processor. This system uses pictures and symbols, which is why it's called a graphical user interface (GUI). You use a mouse or touchpad to click on things like menus and buttons.
