Witch & Wizard is an exciting series of fantasy books. It was created by James Patterson and Gabrielle Charbonnet. The first book, also called Witch & Wizard, came out in 2009. New books were released almost every year until the last one, The Lost, in 2014. There are five main books in total. Two graphic novels, which are like comic books, were also made in 2010 and 2011. They tell more stories from the same world.

About the Story

The Witch & Wizard series takes place in a future world. In this world, a powerful group called the New Order rules everything. They believe magic is bad and try to get rid of anyone who has magical abilities. The stories follow two siblings, Wisty and Whit, who discover they have special powers. They must fight against the New Order to save themselves and others.

Book One: Witch & Wizard

The first book introduces Wisty, who is fifteen, and her brother Whit, who is eighteen. They live in a world where people can be accused of using magic. Even though they don't believe in magic, they are taken away from their parents. This happens after they start showing magical powers. They meet the leader of the New Order, called The One Who Is The One. He sentences them to a harsh fate when they turn eighteen.

Whit finds his girlfriend, Celia, who had disappeared. She tells them she is a "half-light spirit" from another dimension called the Shadowland. Celia teaches them how to travel to Shadowland. This helps them escape to a safe place for kids called Freeland. However, Wisty and Whit decide not to stay. They want to find their parents. They also learn about an old prediction that says they will be "Liberators" and end the New Order's rule.

The siblings start planning to fight the New Order. They get help from Byron, a former classmate. Byron had helped the New Order before, and Wisty had turned him into a weasel with her magic. They return to their hometown and find their house destroyed. There, they discover their parents can talk to them using magic. During this, a special book and drumstick they had turn into a magic wand and a spellbook. Byron also turns back into a human. He is asked to help look after the siblings.

Book Two: The Gift

After escaping from the New Order's prison, Whit and Wisty join a secret group of teens. They become leaders of this group, called the Resistance. They are ready to do anything to rescue other kids who have been taken or imprisoned.

Meanwhile, the evil leader of the New Order is close to gaining even more power. He wants to control nature and even people's thoughts. To fully succeed, he needs the special magical abilities, or "Gifts," of Whit and Wisty. He will stop at nothing to get them.

Book Three: The Fire

Whit and Wisty have many reasons to want to defeat The One. He has taken everything and everyone important from them. The One continues his harsh rule. He even bans creative things like music and imagination. A big battle is coming between the siblings and The One. This battle will decide the future of their world.

Book Four: The Kiss

After defeating The One, Whit and Wisty face new challenges. Wisty starts to like a mysterious stranger named Heath, but she's not sure if she can trust him. A new danger appears: a Wizard King from the mountains who wants to start a war.

Book Five: The Lost

Whit and Wisty have defeated The One, and even his father and son. They finally start to relax and take on new roles. But their peace doesn't last long. A new magical threat appears in their city. This makes the city turn against magic, and the siblings start to doubt themselves and each other.
