Wiwilí de Nueva Segovia is a town and a local government area called a municipality. It is located in the Nueva Segovia Department of Nicaragua. The town sits on the west side of the Río Coco. Another town, Wiwilí de Jinotega, is on the east side of the river.
Wiwilí de Nueva Segovia is special because it is very close to the Bosawas National Natural Resource Reserve. This reserve is the largest protected natural area in all of Central America.
