Wonder Loom facts for kids
Wonder Loom is a super fun toy that lets you create colorful bracelets and cool charms! You use it to weave small rubber bands together. It was invented in 2013 by a company called Choon's Designs LLC in Wixom, Michigan. Another company, The Beadery Craft Products in Hope Valley, Rhode Island, was chosen to make them.
How the Wonder Loom Works
The Wonder Loom is a plastic board with pegs. It's about 2.25 inches wide and 11.75 inches long. It has three rows, with 13 pegs in each row. You place colorful elastic bands onto these pegs. Then, you use a special hooked tool to loop the bands.
This looping creates connected patterns. These patterns are called Brunnian links. Depending on how you loop the bands, you can make many different things. You can create jewelry, headbands, keychains, or even small action figures.
The Wonder Loom kit comes with everything you need to start. It includes the loom itself, which has special parts to make looping easier. You also get a picking tool, small C-clip fasteners, and about 600 rubber bands in different colors.
