Wood Hill once had its own post office! This post office opened way back in 1872. Imagine sending letters and packages from there! It served the community for many years before closing its doors in 1906. The community got its name from the beautiful, wooded hills that surround the area.
Where is Wood Hill Located?
Wood Hill is found in the state of Missouri, specifically within Dallas County. You can find it right on Missouri Route 64, which is a main road in the area. It's about 1.5 miles east of another small place called Pumpkin Center. Another important road, Missouri Route 73, is also nearby. The larger town of Buffalo, Missouri, is about seven miles to the south-southwest. Interestingly, the very beginning of the Little Niangua River is located just east of Wood Hill.
