Yanta District is a cool part of Xi'an, a big city in China. It's located in the southern area of Xi'an. This district covers about 151 square kilometers. In 2010, over 1.1 million people lived there. The name "Yanta" comes from the famous Big Wild Goose Tower. This ancient tower was built way back in 652 A.D.! Yanta District is known for its rich culture and as a great place to visit. It also has many universities.

History of Yanta District

Yanta District was officially created in September 1954. It was formed by combining parts of different areas, including Xi'an No. 9 District and parts of Chang'an County.

Over the years, the district's borders changed a few times. For example, in May 1960, some parts of other districts joined Yanta, but this change was undone in April 1962. Later, in September 1965, Yanta District became a suburb of Xi'an, along with other areas. This change was also reversed in February 1980.
