Yelena Nikolaevna Romanova (Russian: Елена Николаевна Романова) was a famous Russian distance runner. She was born on March 20, 1963. Yelena became an Olympic champion in 1992, winning a gold medal.
She passed away on January 28, 2007, at the age of 43, in her home in Volgograd. At the time, she was working as an athletics coach. She helped train young athletes at a local sports school. She also worked with members of the Russian national athletic team.
