Young People's Poet Laureate facts for kids
The Young People's Poet Laureate is a special award and job created by the Poetry Foundation. This group started the position in 2006. The main goal is to encourage and celebrate children's poetry across the United States. At first, it was called the Children's Poet Laureate. But the name was changed to include a wider age range of young people.
