Yuji Sugano (菅野 裕二, Sugano Yuji, born April 14, 1961) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a midfielder. Sugano is known for playing for the Japan national team once.

Club Career
Playing for Clubs
Yuji Sugano was born in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on April 14, 1961. After he finished studying at Osaka University of Commerce, he joined a local football club. This club was called Toyota Motors at the time. Later, the club changed its name to Nagoya Grampus Eight.
Sugano played for Toyota Motors for several years. In 1992, a big change happened in Japanese football. The old league, called the Japan Soccer League, was replaced. A brand new league, the J1 League, was created. However, Yuji Sugano decided to retire from playing football in 1992. This means he did not get to play in the new J1 League.
National Team Career
Representing Japan
Playing for your country's national team is a very special honor for a football player. Yuji Sugano had this honor. On February 2, 1988, he played his first and only game for the Japan national team. His debut match was against the Oman team.
