Yuji Sugano (菅野 裕二, Sugano Yuji, born April 14, 1961) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder. Sugano also played for the Japan national team.
Club Career
Yuji Sugano was born in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on April 14, 1961. After finishing his studies at Osaka University of Commerce, he joined a local football club. This team was called Toyota Motors at the time. Later, the team became known as Nagoya Grampus Eight.
Sugano played for Toyota Motors until 1992. In that year, the old Japan Soccer League ended. A new professional league, the J1 League, was created. However, Yuji Sugano decided to retire from playing football in 1992. Because of this, he did not get to play in the new J1 League.
National Team Career
Yuji Sugano also had a chance to play for his country. On February 2, 1988, he played his first game for the Japan national team. This match was against the Oman team.
