Yuji Tsukada (塚田 雄二, Tsukada Yuji, born December 28, 1957) is a well-known Japanese football player and manager. He played as a midfielder for many years. After his playing career, he became a coach for several professional teams.

Playing Football
Yuji Tsukada was born in Kofu, Japan, on December 28, 1957. After finishing his studies at Nippon Sport Science University, he joined his hometown club, Kofu SC. This club later became known as Ventforet Kofu. He played for them from 1980 until 1989.
Coaching Football Teams
After he stopped playing, Yuji Tsukada started a new career as a football manager.
Coaching Ventforet Kofu
In 1995, Tsukada became the manager for Ventforet Kofu. At that time, the team was part of the Japan Football League. In 1999, the club moved to a new league called the J2 League. However, Tsukada did not yet have the special coaching license needed for the J2 League. So, another manager, Susumu Katsumata, took his place for a short time.
Tsukada worked hard to get his coaching license in 1999. He then returned to manage Ventforet Kofu in 2000.
Coaching Cerezo Osaka
In 2002, Tsukada became an assistant coach for another team, Cerezo Osaka. In October 2003, he stepped up to become the main manager for Cerezo Osaka. He helped the team reach the finals of the 2003 Emperor's Cup, which is a big football tournament in Japan. He also managed Cerezo Osaka again in 2006.
