The Yuva Puraskar, also known as the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar, is a special award given every year in India. It celebrates young writers who have created amazing books and stories in 24 different Indian languages.

This award was started in 2011. Its main goal is to find and encourage talented writers who are under 35 years old. It helps them continue writing and share their wonderful stories with the world.

What Winners Receive

When a young writer wins the Yuva Puraskar, they get a cash prize of 50,000. They also receive a beautiful copper plaque with special designs carved into it. This award is usually announced around the same time as the Bal Sahitya Puraskar, which is an award for children's literature.

Languages Recognized

The Yuva Puraskar is given to 24 different writers each year. These writers come from various language backgrounds across India. This shows how rich and diverse Indian literature is. Here are the languages for which the awards are presented:
