Yuzo Minami (南 祐三, Minami Yuzō, born November 17, 1983) is a former Japanese football (soccer) player. He played as a defender, which is a player whose main job is to stop the other team from scoring goals.
Yuzo Minami's Football Journey
Yuzo Minami was born in Iruma, Japan, on November 17, 1983. After finishing high school, he joined a big football club called Urawa Reds in 2002. This club was in the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league.
He played his first professional game on June 4, 2005. This was in a J.League Cup match against Omiya Ardija. However, this was the only game he played for Urawa Reds until 2006.
In August 2006, Yuzo moved to Ehime FC. This team had just been promoted to the J2 League, which is the second-highest football league in Japan. At Ehime FC, he became a regular player, often playing as a central defender.
After 2007, he didn't play as much for Ehime FC. In 2009, he moved to V-Varen Nagasaki, a club in the Japan Football League. He didn't play many games there either. Yuzo Minami decided to retire from playing football at the end of the 2010 season.
