Zbots facts for kids
Zbots (also called Z-Bots) are small action figures created by the company Galoob. They first came out in 1992. Galoob released four different collections of Zbots between 1992 and 1994. They also made cool vehicles for the figures.
There were two main groups of these robots:
- The good guys were the ZBots, whose motto was "Designed to Defend!"
- The bad guys were the Voids, who were "Made to Menace!"
Each robot usually had a special logo on its body. The Z-Bots had a "Z" symbol, and the Voids had a "V" symbol. Each Zbot design often came in two different color versions. Zbots were usually more common than Voids. Most packages came with three figures, like two Voids and one Zbot, or two Zbots and one Void.

The Zbot Story
How the Robots Were Created
The original story for Zbots said they were invented in the year 2025. A group of smart scientists created them to protect the world from danger. However, about 60 years later, some rival scientists stole this amazing technology. They used it to build their own evil machines. The big robot war, as the story goes, takes place in the 22nd century.
Later Zbot playsets, like the Vortexx HQ and Fang Fighter, added more to the story. They gave the scientist who made the Zbots a name. They also explained that the Voids were actually Zbots that had been corrupted by a computer virus. This virus changed their circuits, turning them into bad robots.
Different Kinds of Zbots
Special Abilities of Zbots
Many Z-Bots and Voids had unique features:
- Morphbots could change their shape or transform.
- Bitebots had large mouths that could open wide, sometimes as big as their whole body.
- Some Zbots had wheels, letting them roll around quickly.
- Linkbots were special sets of Z-Bots and Voids that could combine. They formed even bigger robots! Their names would even combine, like Baz, Oo, and Ka becoming "Bazooka."
- Combots were a series of robots with a military theme. Sometimes, the same robot model was used for both a Void and a Z-bot, just with different paint colors.
- Mini Z's were tiny Z-Bots, only about half an inch tall. Their parts could be swapped around.
- Revbots had motors inside them. You could scoot them along the floor, and they would go faster on their own.
- There were also giant Z-Bots that worked as playsets. Many accessories, like spaceships, were available too.
Zbots in Fast Food Meals
In 1994, Burger King had a special promotion. Their Kids Meals came with Z-Bots toys. KFC also had a similar promotion with the figures.
