Zoe Lister-Jones (born September 1, 1982) is an American actress and filmmaker. She is known for her roles in TV shows like Life in Pieces (2015–2019), where she played Jen Collins Short. She also appeared in Delocated (2009–2010), Whitney (2011–2013), and New Girl (2015).
Zoe Lister-Jones also directs and writes movies. She made her first film, Band Aid, in 2017. In 2020, she wrote and directed the horror movie The Craft: Legacy. She also co-wrote and co-directed How It Ends (2021) with Daryl Wein. In 2023, she created, wrote, directed, and starred in the comedy series Slip for The Roku Channel. This show was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards in 2023.

Early Life and Education
Zoe Lister-Jones was born in Brooklyn, New York City. Her mother, Ardele Lister, is a video artist from Canada. Her father, Bill Jones, is an American photographer and media artist. Her mother's family is Jewish, and her father became Jewish.
Zoe graduated from Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn in 2000. She then studied at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She also studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Zoe also performed in a rock band.
Acting and Filmmaking Career
Zoe Lister-Jones started her career in theater in New York City. She performed in plays like Seminar and The Little Dog Laughed.
She has appeared in many TV shows and movies. Some of her early TV roles include Law & Order and Bored to Death. She played Kim in Delocated and Lily in Whitney. She was also Councilwoman Fawn Moscato in New Girl and Jen in Life in Pieces.
Writing and Directing Films
In 2004, Zoe wrote and performed a one-woman show called Co-dependence is a Four Letter Word.
In 2009, she co-starred, co-produced, and co-wrote the movie Breaking Upwards with Daryl Wein. This film was made with a small budget and showed how independent films can be created. Zoe also wrote songs for the movie's soundtrack.
She continued to work with Daryl Wein on other films. In 2012, they co-wrote Lola Versus, a film distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures. In 2015, they co-wrote Consumed, a political thriller about genetically modified organisms.
Zoe Lister-Jones directed her first movie, Band Aid, in 2017. She also starred in it. The film features original songs with lyrics written by Zoe. In 2020, she wrote and directed The Craft: Legacy, which is a follow-up to the 1996 movie The Craft.
In 2022, it was announced that Zoe would write, direct, and star in the comedy series Slip. This show premiered on The Roku Channel in 2023 and received two nominations for the 39th Independent Spirit Awards.
