Zooper Dooper facts for kids
Zooper Doopers are a super popular frozen treat in Australia. They are like ice poles that come in a plastic tube. You buy them as a liquid and then freeze them at home. People have loved Zooper Doopers since they first came out in 1971. They are made in Sydney by a company called Bega Dairy & Drinks. These icy poles are a classic summer snack, especially when it's hot! They are very similar to other frozen treats like Sunnyboys.
Flavours
Zooper Doopers come in 8 yummy flavours. These are raspberry, fairy floss, cola, blackcurrant, orange, pineapple, lime, and bubblegum. Once your Zooper Dooper is frozen, you can cut the top of the plastic tube. Then you can slurp up the icy treat right from the tube!
There are also sugar-free Zooper Doopers. They come in 6 different flavours. These include cola, raspberry, blackcurrant, blue lemonade, tropical, and marshmallow.
Special Edition Flavours
Sometimes, you can find special limited edition Zooper Doopers. These include "Sourz" and "Magic" varieties.
Zooper Dooper Sourz come in exciting flavours like watermelon, blackcurrant, apple, lemon, raspberry, and grape. The "Magic" variety has flavours such as lemonade, red creamy soda, banana candy, toffee apple, grape bubblegum, orange sherbet, strawberries & cream, and jaffa.
For a short time, you could also find special "Your Zooper Dooper Favorites" bags. These bags had only two flavours from the usual lineup. For example, bags with fairy floss and blackcurrant were only sold at Coles. Bags with lime and cola were only sold at Woolworths.
In October 1996, two new flavours were added: bubblegum and honeycomb. A bigger version called the "Zooper Dooper Joystick" was also introduced. The Joystick was 150ml, which is much larger than the original 70ml size.
