Ægir facts for kids
In Norse mythology, Aegir is a powerful god of the sea. He is like the king of all the oceans! Sailors, who spent their lives on the water, sometimes feared Aegir. They worried he might sink their ships or take their valuable cargo. But even though he could be scary, many sailors also worshipped him, hoping for safe journeys. Aegir has a wife named Ran, and together they have nine daughters. These daughters are often thought of as the different kinds of ocean waves.
