Ángela Vallvey Arévalo was born in 1964 in San Lorenzo de Calatrava, a town in Ciudad Real, Spain. She is a well-known Spanish writer.
She studied Modern History at the University of Granada. Later, she also took classes in anthropology (the study of human societies and cultures) and philosophy (the study of knowledge and existence).
After writing her first book for children, Ángela Vallvey started writing novels and poetry for adults. She has also appeared on several radio and television shows, like Herrera en la onda, Madrid opina, and Las mañanas de cuatro.
The writer Andreas Dorschel praised Ángela Vallvey's book Los estados carenciales (published in 2002). He said that she was good at showing people as they truly are, not just how they should be.

Ángela Vallvey has won several important awards for her writing:
- Jaén Poetry Award (1999): She won this award for her poetry book titled El tamaño del universo.
