Átila Abreu's Racing Journey
Átila Abreu started his racing career in karting in 1996. Karting is a type of racing that uses small, open-wheel vehicles called karts. It's often the first step for many professional race car drivers.
Early Years in Formula BMW
In 2003, Átila began racing in the Formula BMW ADAC championship. This series is known for helping young drivers develop their skills. He raced with Team Rosberg and finished ninth overall. He also came in second place in the Rookie Cup, which is for new drivers. He earned two podium finishes, meaning he placed in the top three, at Norisring and A1-Ring.
The next year, in 2004, he switched to ADAC Mittelrhein e.V. and had an even better season. He finished as the runner-up in the championship, winning two races at Adria International Raceway and Nürburgring.
Moving Up to Formula Three
In 2005, Átila moved up to the Formula 3 Euro Series with Mücke Motorsport. Formula Three cars are faster and more advanced than Formula BMW cars. In this series, he finished in the points seven times, ending the season in fifteenth place.
Racing in Brazil: Stock Car Brasil
After gaining experience in Europe, Átila returned to Brazil. He started competing in local racing series, including the popular Stock Car Brasil championship. In 2008, racing for JF Racing, he was named the "surprise pilot" of the team. He finished eighth overall that year.
A big moment came in 2010 when Átila won his very first race in Stock Car Brasil. Since then, he has continued to be a strong competitor in the series, winning many more races.
Adventures in Stadium Super Trucks
In 2017, Átila tried something different. He made his debut in the Stadium Super Trucks series. This was a special moment because he was the first Brazilian to ever compete in this series. He drove a truck sponsored by Shell and Monster Energy. In his first race, he finished eleventh, and in the second race, he placed eighth.
