Élodie Yung is a talented French actress. She is well-known for playing strong characters in TV shows and movies. You might know her as Elektra Natchios in the Marvel TV series Daredevil (2016) and The Defenders (2017). She also stars as Thony De La Rosa in the Fox series The Cleaning Lady (2022–present).

Early Life and Education

Élodie Yung was born in Paris, France, on February 22, 1981. Her father is from Cambodia, and her mother is French. She grew up in a place called Seine-Saint-Denis.

When she was 9 years old, her father signed her up for karate classes. She became very good at it and earned a black belt when she was a teenager.

Élodie also studied law at the University of Paris. She thought about becoming a judge. But when she was 29, she decided to follow her dream of acting. She went to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art to train.

Acting Career Highlights

Élodie Yung started her acting journey in 2002. Her first role was in the French TV show La vie devant nous. In 2004, she made her first movie appearance as Tsu in Les fils du vent. She later played a gang leader named Tao in the film District 13: Ultimatum.

She also had a main role in the police TV series Les Bleus for its first three seasons.

In 2011, Élodie appeared in the movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She played Miriam Wu. Later, she took on the role of the ninja Jinx in the 2013 action film G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

She also played the goddess Hathor in the 2016 movie Gods of Egypt. That same year, she was in the action-comedy The Hitman's Bodyguard with famous actors Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson.

Breakthrough Roles

Élodie Yung became widely known for her role as Elektra Natchios. She first played this character in the second season of Marvel's Daredevil in 2016. She returned as Elektra in the miniseries The Defenders in 2017.

In 2020, she joined the Disney+ movie Secret Society of Second-Born Royals. In this film, she played Queen Catherine.

Since 2022, Élodie has been starring as Thony De La Rosa in the Fox crime drama series The Cleaning Lady. The show has been very popular and was renewed for its fourth season in 2024.

Personal Life

Élodie Yung has one child. In August 2018, she welcomed a daughter with actor Jonathan Howard.
