Žarko Domljan (born September 14, 1932 – died September 5, 2020) was an important Croatian politician. He was the very first person to be the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament after Croatia became an independent country. This happened when Croatia separated from Yugoslavia.
He held the position of Speaker from May 30, 1990, until August 2, 1992. Later in his career, Žarko Domljan also worked as a representative in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. This group helps countries in Europe work together on human rights and democracy.

Žarko Domljan was born in a town called Imotski on September 14, 1932. At that time, Imotski was part of Yugoslavia. He later studied at the University of Zagreb, which is a well-known university in Croatia.
