1430 K Street is a tall building in Washington, D.C., the capital city of the United States. It's a modern building that was built between 2005 and 2006. When it was finished, it stood about 150 feet (46 meters) tall and had 12 floors. This building is used for offices and also has a parking garage for cars.

What makes 1430 K Street special is that it was the very first office building in downtown Washington, D.C., to be sold like a condominium. This means that instead of one owner, different groups or companies could buy their own floors or sections of the building.

Many groups, like non-profit organizations and lobbying groups, have bought space here. Non-profit groups work for a cause, not for money. Lobbying groups try to influence government decisions. They moved here from older, smaller buildings called brownstone townhouses. These older buildings were not big enough or modern enough for their needs anymore.

Building Design and History

The building was designed by an architect named Alkridge. They created the building's modern look. Alkridge was chosen by two marketing companies, NEST and Totah Venture, to design 1430 K Street.

Before this new building could be built, two older buildings had to be taken down. This made space for the construction of 1430 K Street to begin.
