The 1952 College World Series was a big baseball tournament. It was the sixth time the NCAA held this event. The tournament decided which college baseball team was the best in the country.

It took place at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska. Games were played from June 12 to June 17. The team that won was the Holy Cross Crusaders. Their coach was Jack Barry. The best player in the tournament was James O'Neill from Holy Cross.

Back in 1952, teams were chosen directly for the College World Series. There were no smaller games before it. Today, teams play in the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament first. This helps pick the eight teams that go to the College World Series.

Teams That Played

Eight top college baseball teams came to Omaha in 1952. They were the best teams from different parts of the United States. Each team hoped to win the national championship.

The teams that participated were:

  • Colorado State
  • Duke
  • Holy Cross
  • Missouri
  • Oregon State
  • Penn State
  • Texas
  • Western Michigan
