2006 Ryder Cup facts for kids
The 36th Ryder Cup Matches were a big golf tournament. It happened from September 22 to 24, 2006. The event took place at The K Club in Straffan, Co. Kildare, Ireland.
Team Europe won the competition! They beat the USA team with a score of 18½ to 9½. This was a huge win, matching their biggest victory from two years before. It was also the first time Europe had won the Ryder Cup three times in a row!
A new player from Sweden, Henrik Stenson, made the final winning shot. Right before that, Luke Donald made a putt that meant Europe would keep the trophy. It was a very exciting finish for the European team!
