The 2020 OFC Nations Cup was planned to be the 11th time the OFC Nations Cup football tournament would take place. This big football championship happens every four years for men's teams in Oceania. It is organized by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). New Zealand were the champions from the last tournament.

How Teams Qualify

All 11 national football teams from the OFC who are also part of FIFA can join this tournament. Sometimes, a special qualification round is held for teams that are not ranked as high. This helps decide which teams get to play in the main tournament.

Why the Tournament Didn't Happen

The 2020 OFC Nations Cup was supposed to be held in New Zealand. However, because of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament had to be cancelled. The OFC announced this decision on April 21, 2020, to keep everyone safe.
