2024 IHF Women's Olympic Qualification Tournaments facts for kids
The 2024 Women's Olympic Handball Qualification Tournaments were exciting events held from April 11 to 14, 2024. These tournaments helped decide which women's handball teams would get to play in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Four teams competed in each tournament, and the top two teams from each group earned their spot in the Olympics.
In the end, teams from Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden successfully qualified for the Olympics!

How Teams Qualified
There were three special tournaments to decide which teams would go to the Olympics. Twelve teams that had performed well in other big handball events got to participate.
Here's how teams earned their spot in these qualification tournaments:
- The top six teams from the World Championship who hadn't already qualified for the Olympics got a chance.
- Teams that were ranked highest from each continent in the World Championship also got a spot. For example, Europe, being the highest-ranked continent, received two extra places. Other continents like the Americas, Africa, and Asia each got one place. Since no team from Oceania met the requirements, the Americas got an extra spot instead.
- These twelve teams were then split into three groups of four teams. The two best teams from each group moved on to the 2024 Olympic Games.
