The medal table for the 2026 Winter Paralympics ranked the countries that participated by how many gold medals their athletes won. These Games, the fourteenth Winter Paralympic Games, brought together amazing athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities. The competitions took place in Milan, Cortina d'Ampezzo, and other beautiful places in Italy from March 6 to 15, 2026. Athletes competed in 79 different events. A new event, wheelchair curling mixed doubles, was introduced for the first time!
Two countries, Brazil and Latvia, made history by winning their very first Winter Paralympic medals. Cristian Ribera from Brazil earned a silver medal in the Men's sitting cross-country skiing sprint. This was also the first Winter Paralympic medal ever won by a country from a tropical, Latin American, or South American region! From Latvia, Poļina Rožkova and Agris Lasmans won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles curling event.

Discovering the 2026 Paralympic Medals
On July 15, 2025, the organizers of the Milano Cortina 2026 Games revealed the special designs for the medals. Each medal had a unique look. On one side, you could find Braille writing, which is a system of raised dots that blind people read with their fingertips. Next to it was the Games logo. The other side of the medal featured the official Paralympics logo. Each medal was 80mm wide and 10mm thick. They were carefully made by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, a special Italian institution.
How Countries Ranked: The Medal Table
Sometimes, athletes tied for third place. When this happened in the Women's sprint pursuit, visually impaired event, two bronze medals were awarded!
