Station Features and History

The 57th Street–Seventh Avenue station opened on July 10, 1919. It has two island platforms, which means there are tracks on both sides of each platform. This design allows for easy cross-platform interchange, where you can switch between trains going in the same direction across the platform.

The station is located underground. It has four tracks in total. You might notice some cool mosaic artwork inside the station, like the "57 Mosaic."
