American League Central facts for kids
The American League Central Division is a group of baseball teams that play in the American League of Major League Baseball (MLB). All the teams in this division are located in the Midwestern United States. This division was created in 1994 as part of a big change in how MLB teams were organized.
Teams in the American League Central Division
The American League Central Division is home to five exciting baseball teams:
- Chicago White Sox
- Cleveland Guardians (formerly the Cleveland Indians)
- Detroit Tigers
- Kansas City Royals
- Minnesota Twins
These teams play against each other many times during the baseball season. The team that wins the most games in the division usually gets to play in the MLB playoffs, hoping to win the World Series.
