AVPX (which stood for Alien vs. Predator vs. You) was a cool indoor laser tag game at Dreamworld. Dreamworld is a big theme park on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. This attraction was based on the exciting Alien vs. Predator movies, especially the first one. It was the biggest indoor laser tag game in Australia. The best part was that it was included in your Dreamworld ticket price!

Playing the Game

When you played AVPX, you joined a group of 30 people. You would enter one of three special rooms called "Weyland Industries Briefing Rooms." In these rooms, you would stand by a weapon. Your weapon decided which team you were on. Half of the group would play as "infected humans," and the other half would be "normal humans."

Getting Ready

Before the game started, you watched a short video. This video explained the rules of the game. It also showed you how to use your laser weapon. After the briefing, your group would move through a cool "Ice Tunnel." This tunnel led to a place that looked like Antarctica. Here, you would see Aliens and Predators waiting! This was the last stop before the main game arena. In this room, you were told that things were about to get intense!

The Main Arena

The main game area was huge, about 650 square metres (7,000 sq ft) in size. It was designed to look like different parts of the Alien vs. Predator world. The arena could be split into three main sections:

  • A two-story Temple, where you could explore different levels.
  • A Queen Alien Labyrinth, which was like a maze.
  • An enclosed Sacrificial Chamber, a special room for intense battles.

How to Play and Score Points

To score points in AVPX, you needed to shoot players from the other team. But that wasn't all! You could also earn points by shooting special objects. These objects included Aliens, Predators, and even Alien eggs hidden around the arena. You had to be careful though, because you could get shot back from different spots!

The arena had special doorways. Some led to the Temple, and others to the Sacrificial Chamber. These doors had lights. If a door had red lights, it meant crossing through it would make you lose points. But if the lights were green, it was safe to enter and explore!
