Zombie Evilution was a cool attraction at Dreamworld theme park in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It was a spooky place where you could play a game of laser tag. The attraction first started as a scary maze. Later, it became a laser skirmish game.
It opened on Friday the 13th of September 2013. It took the place of another attraction called AVPX. Zombie Evilution closed in March 2018. Sometimes, it is still used as a scare maze for special "Park After Dark" events.
What Was Laser Skirmish?
In the laser skirmish game, groups of about 30 people entered a briefing room. Here, they learned about the game. Each person got a special weapon. This weapon decided which team they were on.
Half of the group played as "infected humans." The other half were "normal humans." A short video explained the story of the game.
The Story of Kevil Hill
The game was set in a small town called Kevil Hill. This town was a special place for zombies. A rich person named James Buchanan (J.B.) Kevil created it. Professor Jacques Madigan looked after the town's special chamber. This chamber kept dead people frozen. The idea was to wake them up later.
Playing the Game
Before starting, players learned the rules. They also learned how to use their laser weapons. Then, they moved through a tunnel. This led to a final room before the main playing area.
The main playing area was very large, about 650 square meters. It had many buildings inside. Players earned points by shooting members of the other team.
