A Drop In The Ocean is an exciting Australian children's television series. It first aired on the ABC in 1972. This popular show later had a follow-up drama called Birds of Passage.

The Story of A Drop In The Ocean

A Drop In The Ocean tells the thrilling story of three children. They accidentally get involved with people who are secretly moving things. The show was filmed in Balmain. This is a cool area with docks and boatyards in Sydney Harbour.

How the Show Was Made

The ABC made this series. Their "Young People's Department" created it especially for young viewers. All the episodes were also put together into a movie. This movie could then be shown in other countries.

Most of the talking in the film was made up on the spot. This is called "improvised dialogue." Director Barry Sloane explained why this was a good idea. He said it helped when working with child actors. It made the film feel much more real and natural.
