About A Redwall Winter's Tale
This book is a special part of the Redwall series, known for its brave animal heroes and delicious feasts. Unlike the longer novels, A Redwall Winter's Tale is a shorter, beautifully illustrated story. It's perfect for younger readers or anyone who loves a quick adventure in the world of Redwall. The story focuses on a young mole named Bungo and the clever riddles that challenge the Abbey's residents.
What's the Story About?
The story of A Redwall Winter's Tale begins on the very last day of autumn. Inside the peaceful Redwall Abbey, two young creatures, Bungo and Tubspike, are playing outside. These little ones, called Dibbuns (which means toddlers or young animals), are super excited! They are waiting for some traveling performers to arrive at the Abbey. The kind Abbot of Redwall has given them special permission to be the first to welcome the visitors.
Soon, the performers arrive and enter the Abbey. They put on a wonderful show for everyone. When it's finally time for bed, the Dibbuns are told a magical story. It's about a mythical creature known as the Snow Badger, who is said to make the snow fall.
Just before the sun rises the next morning, something amazing happens! Bungo, the little mole Dibbun, sees the Snow Badger with his own eyes. Even more incredible, he gets to talk to this mysterious creature! When Bungo fully wakes up, he finds a small pouch hanging around his neck. Inside the pouch is a tiny, sparkling crystal drop. There's also a scrap of parchment with a note written on it. But this note isn't just any message; it's a riddle! The creatures of Redwall Abbey must now work together to figure out what the riddle means.
