History of Abbottstown
Abbottstown was started in 1753 by a man named John Abbott. The town was named after him. A house that belonged to John Abbott was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. This means it's an important historical building.
The town used to have a train service called the East Berlin Railroad. It ran from 1877 to 1914, and again from 1916 to 1939. The train tracks were taken away in 1940. In 1950, Abbottstown had 538 people living there.
