Who Was Abdel Latif El Zein?

Abdel Latif El Zein came from a well-known family in Lebanon. His father, Youssef Beik El-Zein, was also an important figure. It was a family tradition to be involved in politics.

A Family of Politicians

Abdel Latif El Zein wasn't the only one in his family to serve in parliament. His two brothers, Abdelkarim El-Zein and Abdelmajid El-Zein, were also Members of Parliament. This shows how much his family cared about helping their country.

A Special Coincidence

In 1953, Abdel Latif's father, Youssef El-Zein, was the oldest Member of Parliament. He had the special job of leading the first meeting to choose the parliament's speaker. At the same time, Ghassan Tueni was one of the youngest members. Many years later, in 2009, Abdel Latif El Zein himself became the oldest member. He got to play the same important role his father did. And guess what? Ghassan Tueni's granddaughter, Nayla Tueni, was one of the youngest members that year. It was a cool coincidence that showed how history can repeat itself!
