However, Dr. Kalam's family was not happy that the party used his name and picture. Later, this party joined with another political party called Makkal Needhi Maiam, which was started by the famous Tamil actor Kamal Haasan.

What Was the Abdul Kalam Vision India Party?

The Abdul Kalam Vision India Party was a group of people who came together to work for common goals in the government. They wanted to make changes in India by taking part in elections. The party was formally launched on February 28, 2016.

Why Was the Party Started?

The main reason this party was created was to achieve the "Vision 2020" ideas of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Vision 2020 was his dream for India to become a developed nation by the year 2020.

Before the party was officially announced, there was a two-day meeting. People from different parts of the State of Tamil Nadu had been asking V. Ponraj to start a political party for many months. Even though he was not sure about entering politics, he eventually agreed.

What Happened to the Party?

The Abdul Kalam Vision India Party later joined forces with another political party. It merged with Makkal Needhi Maiam, a party founded by the well-known actor Kamal Haasan. This means the Abdul Kalam Vision India Party no longer exists as a separate group.
