Aberdeen is a small place in Collingsworth County, Texas, United States. It is an unincorporated community. This means it's a settlement that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's usually managed by the county.
History
Aberdeen had a post office that opened in 1889. A post office was very important back then because it was the main way people sent and received letters and packages. This post office stayed open for many years, finally closing in 1942. The community was named after a noble person known as the Earl of Aberdeen.
