What is the Civil Guard NCO Academy?
The ASGC is a key place for training future leaders of the Guardia Civil. Students here learn important skills to serve their country. They get ready to become sergeants and other non-commissioned officers.
Training for Future Leaders
At the ASGC, students learn many important things. They study security, technical skills, and military subjects. This training prepares them to be effective leaders and help keep people safe in Spain.
How the Academy Works
The ASGC first opened its doors in 2018. Students at the academy are given the rank of Sergeant while they are training. This is only for their studies and pay during the course.
The main course to become a Sergeant usually lasts nine months. People who join this course often have about eight years of experience already. This means they are not new to the Guardia Civil.
Since the academy opened, there have been fewer people applying to join. For example, in 2019, over 1,000 fewer people applied compared to when it first started.
