The Academy at Palumbo is a special high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It's located in the Bella Vista neighborhood. This school building has a long history. It was built in 1930 and designed by Irwin T. Catharine. The building has a cool Art Deco style. This means it has a unique look with brick and terra cotta decorations.
The Academy at Palumbo was first an elementary school. That was way back in 1930. Then, on September 12, 2006, it became a high school. It's now part of the School District of Philadelphia.

What Makes Palumbo Special?
The main goal of the Academy at Palumbo is to help students get ready for college. They teach important skills like critical thinking and problem-solving. Students also learn how to use technology. The school wants to support all its students. This includes everyone, no matter their background.
Since 2006, Palumbo has been a "magnet" high school. This means students apply to get in. It's known for preparing students for college. For example, in 2010, many students wanted to join. About 1,750 applied, and 700 were accepted. Most graduates, about 91%, went on to four-year colleges. Another 8% went to two-year colleges. A small number, 1%, chose to join the military.

The Academy at Palumbo has some very successful teams. The women's volleyball team did great in 2019.
The school's robotics team is called the RoboGriffins. They are super talented! The RoboGriffins were the World Champions of the CoderZ Pro League in the 2020-2021 school year. This shows how smart and dedicated Palumbo students are.
The school building itself is also important. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. This means it's recognized as a special historic site.
