The Academy at Palumbo is a special high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It's located in the Bella Vista neighborhood. This school building is quite old and has a cool history! About the Academy at Palumbo
The Academy at Palumbo was first an elementary school in 1930. It later became a high school on September 12, 2006. Since then, it has been a "college preparatory magnet high school." This means it helps students get ready for college. You usually apply to get into a magnet school.
What Students Learn
The main goal of the Academy at Palumbo is to prepare students for their future. They focus on helping students learn to think critically. Students also develop skills in problem-solving and technology. The school aims to support all students, no matter their background.
In 2010, many students wanted to join the school. About 1750 students applied that year. Around 700 were accepted, and 190 decided to attend. After graduating, most students go on to college. About 91% of graduates went to four-year colleges. Another 8% went to two-year colleges. A small number, about 1%, joined the military.

The students at the Academy at Palumbo have achieved some great things!
- The school's women's volleyball team had a very successful season in 2019.
- The school's robotics team is called the RoboGriffins. They were the World Champions of the CoderZ Pro League in 2020-2021. This is a huge accomplishment!
The school building itself is also important. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. This means it's recognized as a special historic site.
