Acheral is a small town located in the Tucumán Province of northern Argentina. It is part of the Monteros Department. This town is close to the Pre-Cordilleras, which are the foothills of the Andes mountains. You can reach Acheral from the provincial capital city by taking Ruta Nacional 38 to the south. In 2001, about 3,913 people lived in this rural community.

In 1974, a group known as the People's Revolutionary Army had a significant event in Acheral. During this time, they raised their flag in the village.
Later, in 1975, another event took place near Acheral. This involved a conflict between the People's Revolutionary Army and the Argentine Army. This event happened about 2 kilometers north of Acheral, in an area called Arroyo San Gabriel.
