Asa Griggs (born September 13, 1923 – died June 11, 2007) was an American baseball player. People often called him "Skeet". He played as a second baseman in the 1940s and 1950s.
He was part of the Negro leagues. These leagues were for African American players. They played during a time when major league baseball was segregated.

Acie Griggs was born in Union Springs, Alabama. He had a brother named Wiley Griggs, who also played in the Negro leagues.
Acie went to A. H. Parker High School. He also studied at Alabama A&M University. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
His Baseball Career
Griggs started his professional baseball career in 1948. He played for the New York Cubans for one year.
In 1949, he joined the Birmingham Black Barons. He played with this team for many years, until 1957.
Acie Griggs passed away in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2007. He was 83 years old.
