Acqua Panna is a well-known brand of bottled water from Italy. It is one of the biggest bottled water brands in the world. This brand is part of Nestlé, a very large company, through its Sanpellegrino S.p.A. subsidiary. The name Acqua Panna comes from Villa Panna, a beautiful place in the hills of Tuscany. This is where the natural spring was first found. People started bottling this water in 1880. It was also the first still, or uncarbonated, water to be sold in plastic bottles in Italy.

Where Does Acqua Panna Come From?
The special spring where Acqua Panna water comes from is located high up in the Apennine Mountains. These mountains are in Tuscany, a region in Italy, just north of the city of Florence. The spring is about 1,128 meters (3,700 feet) above sea level.
A Look at Acqua Panna's History
The history of Acqua Panna water goes back a long time.
The Medici Family's Special Water
In the 1500s, a very powerful family called the Medicis lived in Florence. They owned the land where the Acqua Panna spring is located. They even fenced it off to keep it as their own private water source. This was very important because many other natural springs at that time could be dirty or unsafe to drink. The Medicis made sure their water from this spring stayed clean and fresh.
Acqua Panna Today
Today, the Acqua Panna brand is still owned by Sanpellegrino S.p.A, which is part of the big company Nestlé. You can find Acqua Panna water sold in many places, including countries in Europe and the Americas.
